Trained and Qualified SENIOR HOME SAFETY SPECIALIST ™ (SHSS)

I am the proud owner of multiple Age Safe® America certificates that I have earned in support of my desire to assist older adults, disabled persons and our veterans. My focus in on aiding older adults that wish to age in place, to feel more confident that their home environment is as safe as they would like it to be.
Age Safe® America is a national membership, training and advocacy organization. Since 2015 the company has been led by nationally recognized experts in fall prevention, senior home safety, aging-in-place, universal design, home modifications, environmental assessment, and marketing to seniors and aging boomers. We provide training, consulting, certifications, product reviews, tools, resources and support to businesses and organizations providing products and services to seniors and their adult children.

As an ADVISOR, I take a holistic view of what the clients needs are!

The Age Safe® America Advisor Member Training Program was created in an effort to help reduce and prevent falls and their associated costs by promoting the necessity of making preparations now to ensure the ongoing freedom and independence of older adults. I am committed to helping reduce risks and ensuring a safer home. This program builds upon the Senior Home Safety Specialist™ (SHSS) certificate by adding valuable services that are also often needed by our clients.  Seniors will also need a reliable resource person, an “advisor” to refer qualified and screened providers for the many services and tasks older seniors will need or are unable to do themselves, such as home care services, bill paying, home remodeling and repairs, buying groceries or taking a pet to the vet. There also comes an age usually in their 70s or 80s when seniors downsize and move to a much smaller residence or a assisted living community. A senior may then require the help of a relocation expert to organize and manage that move. Easily finding a qualified provider helps reduce the emotional stress associated with moving, so a senior can have a gentle and smooth transition. Over time, my service offering will likely cover all or most of the activities listed above.
